This I Believe Freewrite

After constructing a list of things that I believe I have decided on one that really describes me. I believe that everything happens for a reason. I guess that's chessy in a way but I think its true. Just last week my cat of 18 years passed a way. I believe that chickaboo (named after chicken mcnuggets at Mcdonalds) came into my life for a purpose. When I was two I didn't know what that purpose was but now I do. She was always there to protect me. It sometimes felt like she was like my older sister but wasn't even humans! God brought her into this world and took her out of it and she was always there for me even if she was just a cat. Another example of things happening for a reason would be college! When I had graduated from high school I was so excited to be done! I had a great time in high school was very active in school but I was ready to move on and get started on life. Little did I know that I would want to be back in high school! I had decided to live with a friend I knew from high school... bad idea! Lets just say we no longer live together! As hard as loosing a friend was and moving out at spring semester it was the best decision for me! I moved down the hall in the dorms at MSU and met a life long friend. I ended up feeling so welcome in my new room! She introduced me to her friends from back home and I did the same. I am now dating one of her boyfriends best friends. I would love to say it never works out in life but it always does. It doesn't ever feel like it is going to but it always does!!

  2. Lauren- I think you're right on your thought that everything happens for a reason. Maybe it's not always evident what the reason is to begin with but if we follow things to their conclusion most of the time we will be impressed at how things all worked together, big and small. Good job staying on-topic for the free writing! I found that really difficult!

  4. Lauren,
I'm happy to hear that everything turned out for the best. I think your blog is very well laid out. I also think it is strange how we all want things so badly and after they happen you really miss the way things used to be before the change. Great blog!

  5. I am sorry to hear about you losing your cat; it's difficult dealing with a loss that is so close. You have a honorable outlook on it and life in general though and I enjoyed reading your post. Everything in life has a way of working itself out; even though we may not always like it or agree with it at the time.

  6. I think your positive outlook really helps your belief. Seeing that all things work for good really makes you look at all the events in your life and realizing there is a bigger picture. Many times when something bad happens we turn to poor me and look at the right here right now. Hind site comes into play and we understand the purpose of our experience.

  7. In some ways pets are as hard to lose as people. They love us unconditionally and will do anything for us. Change is life can be difficult and exciting, sometimes painful. I believe, we learn the most from our mistakes, especially when we pay attention.
